_"Katia Ancona has the gift of healing touch. Her many of years of experience and training in several modalities allow for deeply relaxing sessions, not just physically, but also for the mind. Ask Katia for some work with neuromuscular therapy, and you will be amazed at how powerful her subtle approach can be." - Yaniv Cohen, Cofounder, CoLab CoOperative
"As a physical therapist, I had thought I had seen or experienced most forms of manual therapy. I was pleasantly surprised when I experienced a treatment from Katia Ancona for a cervical whiplash injury. She demonstrated advanced skill and expertise in relieving tension and gave me an individualized treatment tailored to my specific injury. She requested feedback during the session regarding level of pressure and area of pain. Not only did she care to do a thorough job and help me in the way I needed, she also gave me tips and handouts regarding stretches and nutrition. I believe her to be an advanced manual practitioner and I recommend her whole-heartedly." -Nina Goradia, PT RYI CEAS
Katia's sessions are fantastic. Though she takes the work seriously, the touch she delivers is very gentle. Her style is deep because it allows the client to unwind himself on multiple levels. She creates a steady and spacious meditative environment that allows for complete relaxation. From this relaxing starting point, I'd say that Katia's work is also quite versatile. I've come to her with a wide variety of symptoms ranging from muscular tension in my neck to systemic allergy problems. With neuromuscular therapy, orthopedic massage and lymphatic drainage, she was able to adapt with seeming ease. I'd recommend her sessions to anyone I care about. - Joey Chau Huynh, massage therapist and yoga instructor
“I’ve come to realize that massage is as important to my health as diet, exercise, and nutritional supplements. I don’t wait for injury or muscle pain to justify the benefit from an hour or more of massage. - Raymond DuCharme, Educational psycologist
“Katia Ancona is a uniquely spiritual individual, blessed with knowing hands and a healing heart. Her presence is gentle, warm and persuasive, and what she persuades us to do is release ourselves into the healing energy that accompanies her.” - William Kotzwinkle, Screenwriter, E.T. the Extraterrestrial
"I am 53 years of age and have been dealing with fibromyalgia for more than 20 years. In the past I've had massages and other bodywork that ultimately caused more issues than I had to start with. I agreed, however, to have Katia work on me, and the pain and tightness actually did release WITHOUT any unwanted aftereffects. Katia has a gentle way about her and a genuine desire to help people heal. My only complaint is that we live 2500 miles apart!" - Debbie Galante, artist and teacher
"I had the privilege of receiving a treatment from Katia during a five day silent retreat. Katia had set over an hour aside for me and her hands are gentle and kind. The experience of the treatment with Katia deepened the mediation retreat for me, and had an immediate and uplifting effect on my ability to continue sitting. I am looking forward to working with her again, she is a masterful massage technician and our session was an absolute highlight for me." - Feli Funke-Riehle
"As a retreat manager, I found that it wasn't necessary to oversee the massage aspect of the retreat. Katia worked within the parameters of the schedule so that retreatants could still attend all the meditation and teaching sessions. Bodywork is so complementary and beneficial to the practice of meditation. It helps release all the areas in our body that habitually hold tension, allowing for relaxation of body and mind." - Mary Ann Chubb, retreat organizer

BODYWORK AND MASSAGE THERAPY - I offer sessions of effective, non-invasive bodywork that are individually designed and may include massage and other soft tissue techniques, stretching and strengthening, education about breath, posture or a combination of these. They are meant to be pain free and provide lasting results. Regular massage is a tune-up for physical and mental health- It prevents little issues from getting big. Finding an hour for a massage that unwinds a tweaked area, can keep you from having to figure out who can fill in for you at work because you are disabled. The good news is: preventative care is enjoyable - getting bodywork is both therapeutic and nurturing.
- If unfortunately you’ve “crashed” or had an accident, massage can be an excellent way to hasten your down time and recover more quickly.
Why not try a session?
You have nothing to lose but tight muscles and a weary mind. I know that choosing a massage therapist is a very personal decision. You are trusting your body to someone else’s care. It has to be a good fit. I encourage you to call me to ask any questions you may have and see if you feel comfortable with me. If at that point, you’d like to set up an appointment, you can try me out for ten minutes for free – Here’s how it works: We do your intake, and start your massage.
